
Flint, MI - Theodore Fellenbaum, MD, FACOG, ASCCP, is being

A board-certified, residency-trained physician, Dr.
Fellenbaum has been practicing medicine for 45 years, the past 12 of which he
has had his private practice in Flint, MI. He is a very passionate doctor and
feels he makes a difference for his patients. He does not want to retire
because he loves going to work every day. The doctor also mentors residents and
NPs and hopes to impart his vast knowledge to them.
An exceptional obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Fellenbaum is the head of the OB
department and the Clinical Director of Labor and Delivery at McLaren Flint, a
nonprofit, 378-bed tertiary teaching hospital. He is one of the most
experienced OB/GYNs in Genesee County, often taking care of other OB/GYNs. He
is the only physician in Michigan specializing in treating vulvar diseases and
vulvodynia.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Fellenbaum completed his
undergraduate work at Oberlin College and earned his medical degree from
Northwestern University. He then went through a family practice residency in
Pensacola, FL, at the Naval Aerospace Hospital, which he completed and became
board certified in that specialty. After working a few years as a family
physician, he decided to go back and do his OB/GYN residency at Norfolk Naval
Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
The doctor spent most of his early medical career in the Navy, stationed in
Pensacola at the Naval Aerospace and Regional Medical Center, where he
completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology and his
residency in family practice. Later he completed his fellowship in laser
technology for treating cervical dysplasia and vulvodynia at the Reid
Institute.
While in the Navy, Dr. Fellenbaum held the OB/GYN Department Chair position. In
Flint, he joined the OB/GYN Diagnostic Center before joining Genesys OB/GYN
Associates. Before opening his own practice to better serve the Genesee community,
he was an OB/GYN physician at Women's Integrated Health in Grand Blanc.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and
gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
Professionally, Dr. Fellenbaum is an active member of the National Vulvodynia
Association, the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the
North American Chapter International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal
Disease, the International Pelvic Pain Society, the International Association
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the International Society for Cosmetic
Gynecology, the Cellular Medicine Association, the American Association of
Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Medical Group Management Association.
Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Fellenbaum has been the recipient of
the Naval Achievement Medal (1982), Best Clinical Instructor Award at
Charleston Naval Hospital (1988), Naval Commendation Medal (1990), Letters of
Commendation (1990), and the Dr. Stanley C. Marinoff Vulvodynia Career
Development Award (2005).
On a personal note, the doctor was a professional classical singer and is now a
popular hip-hop artist. He also serves as the Director of the Metropolitan
Opera National Auditions, raising money and awareness for young adults
interested in classical singing, as well as underprivileged children who may
never have been exposed to the art. When not caring for his patients, he is at
home gardening or teaching the next generation of medical residents.
