Phil “Duke” Morrison has built an extraordinary career defined by innovation, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. Since 1988, he has served as a diamond senior sales representative and floor care specialist with Detco Industries, where he supports operations nationwide and continues to lead by example in the maintenance and facility services industry. His deep expertise and long-standing reputation have positioned him as one of the most respected figures in the field.

Mr. Morrison’s professional journey began with the United States Navy, where he served from 1963 to 1967. Assigned as a Chief Petty Officer compartment cleaner, he first learned the art of floor care while serving in Fighter Squadron 51. He completed three tours of duty during the Vietnam War before the age of 21, achieving the rank of Aviation Electrician 3rd Class and receiving specialized training in ordnance. His naval service laid the foundation for the strong work ethic and discipline that define his career today.

Over the decades, Mr. Morrison has made numerous contributions to Detco Industries and beyond. From 2005, he also served as a technical adviser to the Denver United States Postal Service Asbestos Committee, representing both Detco Industries and the Postal Service. In this role, he provided critical guidance on safety and compliance, helping to shape best practices within the field.

His academic achievements include coursework at Chemeketa Community College and a certificate in fine and studio arts from the Columbia School of Broadcasting, earned in 1971. Before entering his current industry, he worked as a DJ, showcasing his talent and charisma long before becoming a leader in sales.

A five-time Salesman of the Year and recipient of the Trailblazer Award, Mr. Morrison’s professional excellence has been recognized on numerous occasions. His book, Pivotal Moments 64 (2nd Edition), which addresses the topic of bullying prevention, has received national attention, including a feature on a military radio broadcast and an endorsement from the son of Commander Jim Stockdale.

Beyond his career, Mr. Morrison is an active philanthropist and community leader. He contributes regularly to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Disabled American Veterans, Tunnels to Towers, and the USS Ticonderoga Club. In 1997, he led a diverse group of 45 men from Garfield County, Oklahoma, to the “Stand in the Gap” Promise Keepers rally in Washington, D.C.—a historic event attended by nearly a million participants.

Mr. Morrison’s dedication extends to his personal passions as well. He is an avid poker player who enjoys karaoke, fishing, dancing, and traveling.
