Founded in 1976, Desert Orthopedic Center is a multi-subspecialty regional orthopedic practice committed to top tier patient care services in the areas of orthopedic medicine in the areas of podiatry, radiology, physiatrists, rheumatology, and acupuncture. Utilizing the latest technologies, the physicians on staff perform over 5,000 procedures each year.
An esteemed member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Dr. Kang specializes in general orthopedics including arthritis treatment and prevention, hip and knee surgery, arthroscopy, hip preservation procedures and more.
Recognized by Doctors of Excellence, Dr. Kang has been published in peer review journals such as the Journal of Orthopedics and has authored an instructional DVD on the topic of hip resurfacing as well as the reviewing of chapters on both primary and revision total hip replacement. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma Best Teaching Resident award.
Passionate about helping others, Dr. Kang is active in his community at public speaking engagements on hip and knee arthritis at various hospitals and embarked on a medical mission to Guatemala in 2012 where he performed both surgical and non-surgical procedures to those in need of medical care.
A certified diver, Dr. Kang enjoys scuba diving, working out and playing softball in his spare time.
He attained his Medical degree from the State University of New York College of Medicine where he graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Kang went on to complete his residency at Texas Medical Center through the Baylor College of Medicine.
