N'DRI ASSIE-LUMUMBA, PH.D. - PROFESSOR

Ithaca, NY/ Continental Who’s Who/- N'Dri Assie-Lumumba, Ph.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Higher Education. Dr. Assie-Lumumba is a Professor at Cornell University.

Founded in 1865, Cornell University is a private, Ivy League university with a strong focus on excellence, diversity and inclusion, openness and collaboration. Home to to various undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs within a variety of interests, Cornell University aims to be a globally recognized top-ten research institution.

Possessing over thirty years of professional experience, out of which over twenty five years at Cornell University, Dr. Assie-Lumumba’s areas of expertise lie within Africana Studies, social and family structures, teaching in higher education institutions, public speaking, mentoring and research.

Throughout the course of her illustrious career, she has worked in and traveled to countless countries across Asia, North and South America, the Caribbean, Africa and Europe to further advance her knowledge. In these countries, Dr. Assie-Lumumba has been involved with institution building and human resource development and has even served as a senior advisor for national and international development agencies and organizations- such as various units of the United Nations system, foundations, and youth organizations. An expert in her field, Dr. Assie-Lumumba has been employed by several universities and institutions for both research and teaching positions.

A testament to her success, Dr. Assie-Lumumba’s prolific academic production including many books, book chapters and articles prestigious journals, her article titled “Educational and Economic Reforms Gender Equity and Access to Schooling in Africa” was published in the International Journal of Comparative Sociology in 2001 and received the Joyce Cain Award for Distinguished Research on African Descendants. Dr. Assie-Lumumba has received many other recognitions including as Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, Fulbright Senior Research Fellow, a Woman of Outstanding Leadership of the International Women’s Leadership Association, recipient of the Distinguished Africanist Award as Visiting Professor in many universities and Past-President of CIES. Following receipt of two Bachelor’s and two Master’s degrees, Dr. Assie-Lumumba went on to attain her Ph.D. in Comparative Education at the University of Chicago.
