A retired marketing professional, Mr. Melvin A. Zelaya has led an impressive career for over 30 years, working with some of the major corporations in America. His vast repertoire of expertise includes sales, auditing, management, merchandising, and marketing consulting. His career began working for IBM in the early 1970s, and later pursued sales and marketing. From 1987 until 1989, Mr. Zelaya served as an accounts executive for Midland Communications and subsequently a territory sales manager for the Coca-Cola Company in 1990. At Coca-Cola, he was responsible for negotiating large contracts, emphasizing an outcome of a win-win situation with customers, thus cementing a loyal and long term relationship. He excelled with the company for more than 15 years thereafter in their offices based out of Atlanta, Georgia and Phoenix before retiring in 2006 Arizona. In recognition of his professional excellence, Mr. Zelaya has received multiple sales awards while working at Coca-Cola.
In his retirement, Mr. Zelaya is currently devoted to his writing and consulting career. He has garnered a commendable reputation as a creative customer focuses sales leader and his exceptional work through JCMZ Publishing & Consulting. He takes pride in building and motivating teams, exceeding goals, and cultivating profitable long-term relationships. A distinguished author, Mr. Zelaya has been well-reviewed by readers and industry press for his works such as “The Real Life in Christ” in 2013 and “Living Daily in The Kingdom of God” in 2019.
Among his academic achievements, Mr. Zelaya holds a degree in computer systems analysis from the San Francisco Computer Academy in 1967. In addition, he holds a BBA degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Alaska and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix.
In his spare time, Mr. Zelaya is a volunteer counselor at the Maricopa County Jail and affiliated with Open Ministry at 211 Brooks St., Suite #1224 in Oceanside, CA. He also enjoys golfing and prison ministry.
Mr. Zelaya’s beloved wife, Miriam, passed away on June 30th, 2020.
