In his current role as CIO, John Ragsdale is responsible for the strategic information technology direction and the overall technology operations and infrastructure for BerylHealth (www.berylhealth.com), a patient experience services company in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex. He is currently leading the transformation and rearchitecture of all core business systems to the Salesforce.com cloud platform. John is an IT Executive with over 19 years’ experience in providing leadership, vision, strategic planning, and project management for IT organizations in world-class companies.
Before joining BerylHealth, John was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), the largest department in Louisiana. In addition to his role with DHH, John served as the Statewide HIT Coordinator for all Louisiana ARRA HITECH initiatives from 2009-2010. He oversaw the implementation and operation of the Louisiana Health Information Exchange (LaHIE) and the Louisiana Health Information Technology (LHIT) Resource Center, the federal HITECH Regional Extension Center for Louisiana. As a Director of IT Operations, he also built and led the IT department for MCIC Vermont, the medical malpractice insurance company for Johns Hopkins Health System, Yale-New Haven Health System, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and the University of Rochester Medical Center.
As a consultant, John has also provided senior project leadership and strategy for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and CGI Consulting Group as the Director of Applications for Humana Specialty Benefits, near Charlotte, NC. Lastly, using his BS in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University, John improved processes and systems for companies such as Lockheed-Martin and Bellsouth while a consultant for Andersen Consulting.
