Griena Hermaine Knight Davis

Birmingham, AL/ Continental Who’s Who/ Griena Hermaine Knight Davis is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Higher Education as a result of her role as Dean of Student Affairs with Miles College, a premiere liberal arts institution located in metropolitan Birmingham.

In her current position, Griena provides administrative oversight of Student Affairs including Residence Life and Housing Services, Judicial Affairs, Student Government Association, Student Activities, Cafeteria Services, Athletics, and Student Health Services.

In addition to her role as Dean of Student Services, Griena is also a member of numerous professional and civic organizations including, the Tri County Chapter of The Links, Inc.; National Association of Student Affairs Professionals; Association of Fraternal Advisors;  National Coalition of 100 Black Women; NAACP; National Council of Negro Women; Disabled American Veterans; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.; Girls Inc.; The Birmingham Chums, Inc.; Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority, Inc.; Junior League of Birmingham; American Legion; and the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education.  She also supports Girls, Inc.; March of Dimes; United Negro College Fund; Sickle Cell Foundation; and St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.  She is the founder of the non-profit organization S.M.A.R.T. Girl Consulting which provides mentoring and coaching to youth and young adults.

Griena is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education (ABD) in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, and also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition, Griena received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with Honors in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Along with her professional degrees, Griena has also obtained Certificates in Proposal Development and Grant Writing from The Grantsmanship Center and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as a Certificate in Institutional Development from the Williamsburg Development Institute.
