Specializing in the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of rheumatic and immunologic diseases and osteoporosis, Dr. Al-Ashkar is an esteemed physician providing compassionate, patient-centered care in all facets of Specialty Internal Medicine. Consecutively recognized by America's Top Physicians each year since 2009, Dr. Al-Ashkar is a Board Certified Rheumatologist with specific expertise in metabolic bone disorders such as osteoporosis and osteopenia as well as Paget's disease of the bone, and a certified clinical densitometrist by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
Dr. Al-Ashkar implements innovation practice and includes Shared Medical Appointments for new consults and established patients. She also implements lifestyle medicine and wellness and dietary interventions in the management of her patients’ health problems.
In addition to overseeing infusions at the infusion center, Dr. Al-Ashkar implements the use of ultrasound in the guidance of musculoskeletal injections and aspirations.
To keep up with the latest advancements in medicine, Dr. Al-Ashkar maintains affiliation with the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, American College of Rheumatology, National Osteoporosis Foundation and The International Association of Healthcare Professionals-the Leading Physicians of the World.
Graduating from the Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Al-Ashkar also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from American University of Beirut. Throughout the course of her medical training, she completed her Fellowship, Residency and Internship at the Cleveland Clinic.
