Dr. Khan is a celebrated professional who has had a lasting impact on countless organizations, especially the Inter Faith Institute of Long Island. The doctor has more than 5 decades of experience in the industry holding numerous roles including chairman of medicine at Nassau University Medical Center and chief of Pulmonary division at Queens General Hospital.

In preparation for his illustrious career, Dr. Khan received a medical degree while in Kashmir, India and completed his Residency at Queens General Hospital, now known as Queens Hospital Center. As an industry visionary, he is a member of many prestigious organizations including Islamic Medical Association of North America, Interfaith Institute of Long Island, and a member of SUNY Old Westbury College Foundation Board.

Dr. Khan’s considerable influence on the field has been recognized with many notable awards from organizations such as the Islamic Medical Association of North America and the Interfaith Institute of Long Island. Reflecting on his career, the doctor asserts that his success is a direct result of following his philosophy to promote unity, harmony, and understanding among diverse religious groups; and bridging cultural and religious divides to foster a sense of community and compassion.

Dr. Khan was recently honored with an event called “the most important event organized by the Inter Faith Institute of Long Island” by Dr. Unni Mooppan, president of the Inter Faith Institute. The tribute, named “Celebrating the Life and Achievements of Dr. Faroque Khan,” was a highly revered event where various religious, community, and social organizations contributed testimonials and citations of his great works and lifetime achievements.

Looking to the future, Dr. Khan envisions expanding interfaith initiatives into schools and spearheading programs within the interfaith community to promote understanding and cooperation.
