Goodwater, AL — Edd "Rusty" Mascari is being recognized
by Continental Who's Who as a Distinguished
Special Investigator in the Security and Law Enforcement fields,
acknowledging his work with the Alabama Licensing Board for General
Contractors.
Mr Mascari has led a distinguished career in security, compliance
administration, and investigations that has spanned several decades. Since
2005, he has served as Special Investigator at the Alabama Licensing Board for
General Contractors in Montgomery, AL. In his current role, he conducts
compliance visits following Title 34, Chapter 8 of the Code of Alabama, also
known as the "general contractor's license law.". He is set to retire
later in 2022.
Before beginning his career in security and investigations,
Mr. Mascari served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from
1979 to 1986, excelling for two years within ground communications at Barksdale
Air Force Base. He then attained the opportunity to step up to direct
presidential support as a crew member on the National Emergency Airborne Command
Post at Offutt AFB. Mr. Mascari then provided superior service as a tech
support specialist with Russell Corporation from 1986 to 1989.
Following his military career, Mr. Mascari worked for about
12 years as an Alexander City police officer. Mr. Mascari flourished with that
city's police department from 1989 to 2001, attaining the rank of Lieutenant
and garnering a Police Officer of the Year award in 1994. He was very proud of
teaching the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program at local elementary
schools during that time. He subsequently served as a Revenue Officer in
Alexander City from 2001 to 2005. In addition, Mr. Mascari served as a Reserve
Deputy with the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office in Dadeville from 2001 to
2008 and a Chief Reserve Deputy with the Coosa County Sheriff's Office from
2008 to the present.
In pursuit of higher education, Mr. Mascari completed
coursework in communications at Community College of the Air Force in 1986 and
later the Alabama Criminal Justice Training Center in Selma in 1990. Among his
professional licenses and certifications, Mr. Mascari is certified in Drug
Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT). He
also earned a certification from the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training
Commission.
Mr. Mascari cites providing direct support for President
Reagan as a crew member on National Emergency Airborne Command Post as a career
highlight and felt blessed to have been selected and obtained the clearance
levels required. Working directly for ten years with schools to teach the DARE
(Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program was the best part of Mr. Mascari's
job as a lieutenant with the Alexander City Police Department. He taught the
program to children, including high school students, some of whom became law
enforcement officers themselves because of his positive influence.
Mr. Mascari believes that his success has resulted from the
strong support system provided by his family and the mentors he has had
throughout the years. They all helped instill positive attributes in him that
shaped how he works and treats everyone. In his sixties, Mr. Mascari is
preparing for retirement but plans to work part-time as a Reserve Deputy. On a
personal note, Mr. Mascari enjoys scuba diving, hunting, and fishing in his
spare time.
