As a senior executive with over 20 years of leadership
experience, Dr. Corbett has dedicated his career to developing innovative
strategies to strengthen organizations within the business, nonprofit, and
government sectors. He has served since 2013 in his current role as President
of the Pivotal Group Consultants. The California-based consulting firm provides
business assessments, professional development, board development, executive
coaching, and other specialized services to meet the individual, team, and
organizational needs.
Dr. Corbett specializes in working to strengthen nonprofit
organizations and their mission to build stronger, healthier communities. He
appreciates that individuals and organizations often already possess the tools
and assets to succeed. He takes a strengths-based approach, which allows

and increase the impact on the communities they serve.
Alongside his consulting business, Dr. Corbett also serves
as Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego within the School of
Leadership Studies, where he teaches graduate-level courses on governance and
leadership.
An acclaimed author, Dr. Corbett has written numerous
publications on practical leadership techniques. His latest book is due for
release this spring.
Dr. Corbett attributes his successful career to his
life-long passion for learning. In pursuit of his higher education, Dr. Corbett
earned a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in
Nonprofit Management from New York University in 1998. He completed his Ph.D.
in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego in 2020. He additionally
holds certification as a Governance Trainer with BoardSource, a Leadership
Challenge facilitator Certified Facilitator, and an Everything DiSC Workplace
facilitator. He is also a certified coach with the International Coaching
Federation.
To remain abreast of the latest developments in his field,
Dr. Corbett maintains affiliation with the International Coaching Association,
the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business Program, and BoardSource.
Looking to the future, Dr. Corbett plans to expand his
outreach internationally and continue his work on committees and nonprofits. He
hopes to benefit by networking, accomplishing his goals, and learning from
others.
Outside of work, Dr. Corbett enjoys traveling, hiking, and
spending time with his family and his golden-doodle puppy named Biscuit. He
also serves as a board member for his local church, where he actively donates
and volunteers.
