Sunnyvale, CA, June 14, 2012/Continental Who’s Who/- Dale Ensminger is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Research. Dale is a Retired Senior Research Scientist with Battelle Columbus Laboratories.
Dale Ensminger was born on September 26, 1923, at Mt. Perry, Ohio. He married Lois Elizabeth Hamilton on April 25, 1948. He was married 45 years 8-months to Lois who died on Nov. 6, 1993. We had 6 children, 30 grandchildren and at least 22 great-grandchildren. We had a very happy life together. On June 7, 2002, He married his World War II sweetheart, Patricia Curtis. He started at Battelle Columbus Laboratories by invitation while he was in school working part-time and going to school full time. On graduation from OSU with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degrees in 1950, he was transferred into the Electrical Engineering Department where he became interested in ultrasonics. He stuck with ultrasonics throughout his career at Battelle.
Battelle is an independent research and development organization who's major product is research and development for international as well as local use.
Dale is a member of U.I.A.; A.S.A.; and A.S.N.T. He is an Emeritus Member of the US Board of The Fundamental Baptist Mission of Trinidad and Tobago since March 4, 2006 (after 29 years of active service with the Board).
He has been awarded a lifetime membership in the A.S.A. for being an active member for 50 years.
He served as the Dean of the Columbus Bible Institute 44 years and 4 months. The Columbus Bible Institute was an evening school. It gave way to the Bible Institute of Ohio, which used the same facilities and operated as a full-time school.
He has several published works in several books, including "Ultrasonics-The Low- and High-Intensity Applications", 1973; a second edition "Ultrasonics, Fundamentals, Technology, Applications, " a third edition entitled, with the help of Dr. Leonard Bond "Ultrasonics-Fundamentals, Technologies, and Applications" 2012..Another recent book he edited with the help of Dr. Foster Stulen and contributed several chapters is "Ultrasonics, Data, Equations, and Their Practical Uses."2009.
Among other books he wrote include a handbook which was written for the US Army through Watertown Arsenal and published in 1973. He is the author of a major section which includes Nondestructive Testing written for the US AirForce and published in 1971.
Mr. Ensminger was also a reviewer for Applied Mechanics Reviews. He has been listed in American Men of Science, Personalities of America, Who's Who in Technology, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who Worldwide, (included in the Who's Who Registry of Business Leaders.
