Ridgely, WV—Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Christopher Ackerman is acknowledged as a Pinnacle Life Member for his contributions to the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Ackerman pursued higher education at Frostburg State University where he earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Jazz Performance. He then attended Midwestern University in Chicago receiving a Master of Biomedical Sciences; a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in South Carolina; and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Inspira Health Network in Vineland, New Jersey. 

Dr. Ackerman is a board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, practicing in Cumberland, Maryland specializing in women’s health, particularly the female reproductive system, pregnancy, and childbirth. He explained that as an obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, he can treat a number of health issues related to the vagina; uterus; ovaries; fallopian tubes; and breasts as well as women during pregnancy; labor; childbirth; and the postpartum period. In this specialty, doctors focus on reproductive care from puberty through adulthood.

Providing a holistic approach to obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Ackerman notes that he performs minimally invasive robotic surgeries in gynecology and all medical services from conception to the postpartum period. A testament to his professionalism and knowledge of the field, the doctor is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists; a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology; and the American Academy of Osteopathy.

Aside from his professional pursuits, Dr. Ackerman is a dedicated civic servant who serves as a Free Mason, 32nd-degree Scottish Rite. He is also a Shriner, attending the Ali Ghan Temple in Cumberland, Maryland.
