CHARLOTTE R. DENNETT - INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST

Burlington, VT - Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Charlotte R. Dennett is recognized as a Pinnacle Professional of The Year for her contributions to Law, Investigative Journalism and Global Political Analysis.

Charlotte R. Dennett has built a multifaceted career combining legal advocacy with investigative writing focused on geopolitics, intelligence history and global energy politics. As an attorney and author, she has spent decades examining complex legal issues while also contributing to broader public understanding of international political dynamics.

Ms. Dennett has practiced law since 1997, developing experience in personal injury law, medical malpractice, family law and civil litigation. Her legal career began in Vermont, where she gained professional experience in the field before successfully completing the bar examination and establishing her practice. She maintains professional affiliations with the Vermont Bar Association and the Vermont Association for Justice.

Alongside her legal practice, Ms. Dennett has become widely recognized as an investigative writer exploring global political issues and historical intelligence events. Her research and writing examine the intersection of international energy interests, intelligence operations and geopolitical strategy.

She is the author of three books addressing these topics, including Follow the Pipelines: Uncovering the Mystery of a Lost Spy and the Deadly Politics of the Great Game for Oil (2020). She is also the co author of Thy Will Be Done: The Conquest of the Amazon: Nelson Rockefeller and Evangelism in the Age of Oil and the author of The People v. Bush: One Lawyer’s Campaign to Bring the President to Justice and the National Grassroots Movement She Encounters Along the Way (2010).

Ms. Dennett earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Wheaton College (Mass.) and later completed a master’s degree in Art History at Villa Schifanoia, Florence, Italy. Her academic background helped shape the analytical perspective she brings to both legal practice and investigative research.

Her interest in intelligence history is also deeply personal. She is the daughter of Daniel Dennett, who worked in United States intelligence and died in an aircraft crash in Ethiopia in 1947 while conducting intelligence related work. The circumstances surrounding that event have influenced her investigative pursuits and ongoing research.

Outside of her professional work, Ms. Dennett enjoys skiing, outdoor activities and spending time in nature walking her dog. Looking ahead, she plans to continue promoting her books and further researching the historical questions surrounding her father’s death while gradually transitioning toward retirement from legal practice.
