
Newton, KS - Arthur Roland Dick, MD, is being recognized by
Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Neurology
as a Retired Neurologist with the University of Kansas.
One of the founding professors of the Department of Neurology,
Dr. Arthur Roland Dick has shared his breadth of knowledge with the students
for the last 50 years. Starting from a faculty of 3 people, The Department of
Neurology has grown into a staff of 60 people with Mr. Dick at times, acting as
chair of the Department.
Before retiring from the University of Kansas, Dr. Dick attended Bethel
University for his undergrad then went on to receive his masters and then was
quickly drafted into the Army performing biomedical research. Following his
time in the army, he continued his education and went on to receive his Medical
Degree with the University of Maryland. After that Arthur completed his
residency where he later sought a life-long career at the University of Kansas.
He then was invited for Fellowships at the University of Miami and traveling
abroad to Lund in Sweden.
A noted member of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Arthur Roland Dick is proficient
in the diagnosis and treatment of Muscular dystrophy, stroke, epilepsy,
including training residents. He has been honored with the Super Dr. award for
Muscular dystrophy with the AHA for his efforts in innovative treatments and
education.
Dr. Dick dedicates this honorable recognition to his mentor Dr. Dewey Zigler.
In his free time, Dr. Arthur Roland Dick enjoys spending time with his wife and
college sweetheart Betty and raising their daughters Julie Sparks and Amy
Morgan, and grandchildren Jack, Mike, and Morgan.
