Earlier, he served in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement at the New York Regional Office from 1969 to 1973 as a trial attorney and branch chief. That experience, under mentors including Irving Pollack, Stanley Sporkin, Thomas Duffy, Martin Lipton, and Bernard Nussbaum, informed Mr. Martin’s later success in private practice and included contributions to Senate subcommittee examinations and internal SEC reviews that advanced regulatory oversight.
Mr. Martin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in English literature, from The City College of New York in 1966, followed by a Juris Doctor in 1969 and a Master of Laws in 1973 from The George Washington University. Mr. Martin is admitted to the New York Bar and to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
