Dr. Adrienne C. Scheck, Ph.D. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Scientific Research as a result of her role as a Principle Investigator with Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI), the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institution.
Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is the world's largest dedicated neurosurgical center and a leader in neurosurgical training, research, and patient care. More operative neurosurgical procedures take place at Barrow than at any other institution in the United States.
As a Principle Investigator, Dr. Scheck specializes in research involving metabolic and standard care therapies; brain tumor therapy; therapy resistance; and the development of new prognostic markers for brain tumors. Her research helps to develop novel adjuvant therapies for the treatment of brain tumors through the use of various molecular and molecular genetics techniques to investigate why current therapies sometimes fail.
Dr. Scheck currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Past Board Chair of Southwest Behavioral Health Services and on the Advisory Board for Arizona's First Science and Technology Expo. In addition, she is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the Society for Neuro-Oncology. She also maintains her position as a reviewer for a number of Professional Journals and is on the Editorial Board of Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, CNS Oncology and World Journal of Surgical, Medical and Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Scheck earned a Ph.D. in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as well as a B.A. in Biology from the University of Rochester.
