Robin F. Stegman, PhD, FAAA, CCC-SLP/A, TSHH, has built a distinguished career in audiology, recognized for her dedication to early hearing care, patient advocacy, and provider education. With extensive experience serving infants, children, and adults, she has made a lasting impact through both clinical practice and academic contributions.

Dr. Stegman is known for her expertise in infant hearing care and early intervention, as well as her compassionate, patient centered approach. Fluent in American Sign Language, she has been able to effectively support diverse patient populations, ensuring clear communication and individualized care for patients and their families.

Although now semi retired, Dr. Stegman remains actively engaged in the field through education and training initiatives.  She is a provider member of the NYS Early Intervention Coordinating Council and member of the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention advisory board.  Additionally, Dr. Stegman is in the process of developing continued education courses designed to train early intervention providers and expand clinical capacity in hearing care/education services.  

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Montclair State College, a Master of Science in Rehabilitative Audiology from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a focus on special education and deaf education. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Stegman maintains active affiliations with the American Speech Language Hearing Association, the Long Island Speech and Hearing Association, and the New York Speech and Hearing Association, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional development and the advancement of audiology.

Beyond her professional work, she is dedicated to community service.  Dr. Stegman is a member of the Board of Directors for Mary’s Place, a center for grieving children and families, is a volunteer at a local soup kitchen, and has participated in medical mission trips to Nicaragua through Mayflower Medical Outreach.  In her personal time, she enjoys music, playing guitar and bass, and is currently learning piano.  She also loves getting together at Smash Studios in NYC with her bandmates, The Repeatles.  

Dr. Stegman credits her mentors, including Daniel Ling, PhD, Carl Loovis, PhD, and David Luterman, PhD, for their guidance and influence throughout her career. Looking ahead, she plans to continue contributing to education and charitable outreach within audiology and early intervention.
