Daniel Alfonso, Ed.D., has built a distinguished career in higher education leadership, combining strategic vision with operational expertise to support academic institutions across multiple regions. In his current role within a private university system with campuses in Denver, Las Vegas, and San Juan, Dr. Alfonso oversees facilities management, procurement, business development, and long term campus planning.

Responsible for managing a budget of approximately $150 million, Dr. Alfonso works closely with senior leadership to design and maintain environments that foster effective teaching and learning. His responsibilities include overseeing infrastructure development, planning new building projects, and ensuring that university facilities support both academic excellence and institutional growth.

Dr. Alfonso earned a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2024. Known for his strong communication skills and ability to align technology and financial planning with institutional goals, he has developed a reputation for bridging operational strategy with educational mission.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Alfonso served as City Manager of Miami, where he successfully secured a $400 million municipal bond to support city development initiatives. His work has been recognized with honors including Administrator of the Year in 2015 and Executive of the Year in 2020.

He maintains professional affiliations with APPA, IFMA, ASPA, and the Chamber of Commerce, where he serves as treasurer. He is also involved with the Juan Lopez Endowed Fund and the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

Dr. Alfonso credits his grandfather, Juan Lopez, as a guiding influence in his life and career. Above all, he is most proud of his family, including his two adult children and a 39 year marriage.
